University of Kashmir Recruitment 2024 – Research Positions in Department of Geoinformatics

The Department of Geoinformatics at the University of Kashmir has announced an opportunity for eligible candidates to apply for various research positions under DST-sponsored projects. The positions are initially for one year and are co-terminus with the projects. Below are the details:

Vacant Positions

1. Senior Project Associate (1 Post)

Salary: ₹49,000/- + HRA

Project: CoE for Glacier Studies

Qualification: Ph.D. in Geoinformatics, Geology, Meteorology, or Climate Science.

Desirable: 2 years of post-doctoral research experience in Glaciology, Climate Modeling, or Glacial Geomorphology.

2. Project Associate-II (1 Post)

Salary: ₹35,000/- + HRA

Project: CoE for Glacier Studies

Qualification: M.Sc. with 60% marks in Geoinformatics, Geology, Meteorology, or Climate Science.

3. Project Associate-I (1 Post)

Salary: ₹31,000/- + HRA

Project: CoE for Glacier Studies

Qualification: M.Sc. with 60% marks in Geoinformatics, Geology, Meteorology, or Climate Science.

Desirable: 1 year of research experience in Glaciology.

4. Scientific Administrative Assistant / Field Worker (1 Post)

Salary: ₹20,000/- + HRA

Project: CoE for Glacier Studies

Qualification: M.Sc. in Geoinformatics or Geology with at least 60% marks.

Desirable: Experience in Glacier fieldwork, preference will be given to male candidates.

5. Scientific Administrative Assistant (1 Post)

Salary: ₹18,000/- + HRA

Project: Capacity Building in Glaciology

Qualification: 3-year diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, B. Tech in Electronics, Communication, or related fields.

Desirable: Preference will be given to male candidates with soft skills.

Important Dates

Application Submission: 1st October 2024 to 13th October 2024.

Interview: The interview will be conducted online or in person at the National Ice-core Laboratory, University of Kashmir. Eligible candidates will be informed via email or phone.
