Two Government Employees Disengaged for Participation in Political Activities

Budgam, 22 Sept: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has disengaged two casual labourers from the Jal Shakti Department for their involvement in political activities during the ongoing Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024.

“Shri Sadiq Lone, S/o Ghulam Mohammad Lone, R/o Kachwari Budgam, and Shri Mohammad Ashraf Shah, S/o Ghulam Hassan, R/o Khansahib, both working as Need Base Casual Labourers (NBCL) in the PHE Sub Division Khansahib, PHE Division Budgam, engaged in political activities during the ongoing Assembly Elections 2024, in violation of the Model Code of Conduct as well as the Jammu and Kashmir Government Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1971. The Competent Authority has decided to disengage their services forthwith, and hence, they are, accordingly, disengaged, with immediate effect.” The order reads.

The disengagement order was issued under Government Order No. 210-JK (JSD) of 2024, dated September 21, 2024. The action was taken in response to a report submitted by the Home Department, highlighting violations of the Model Code of Conduct and the Jammu and Kashmir Government Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1971.(News Eye)
