Delhi Feb 5: PM Narendra Modi praised the ongoing development projects in Jammu and Kashmir and strongly criticised the ideology of secession.
In response to the motion of thanks on the President’s address to Parliament in the Lok Sabha, the Prime Minister praised the progress happening in Jammu and Kashmir.
Expressing strong opposition to the ideology of secession, he proudly expressed his unwavering faith in the capabilities of India’s defence forces.
Commending the government’s dedication to upholding peace and harmony in the country, PM Modi emphasised the importance of other nations adopting India’s unwavering stance against terrorism.
At the start of his speech, he acknowledged the Sengol that proudly led the procession as the President arrived at the new house to deliver her address, with the rest of the parliamentarians following her lead.
The Prime Minister emphasised the significance of this historic occasion, highlighting how it greatly enhances the prestige of the house. He expressed that the 75th Republic Day, the inauguration of the new Parliament House, and the arrival of the Sengol were all highly influential events.
He expressed gratitude to the members of the house for their valuable contributions to the motion of thanks on the President’s address.

PM Modi emphasised that the President’s address was a comprehensive document filled with factual information, highlighting the rapid progress of India. He also emphasised the importance of developing and empowering women, youth, the poor, and the Ann Daata (farmers) in order to expedite the nation’s development.
According to him, the address sheds light on the path for the nation to achieve Viksit Bharat by bolstering these four pillars.
Highlighting the importance of a robust opposition, the Prime Minister expressed concern about the impact of dynastic politics on Indian democracy.
Providing insight into the concept of dynastic politics, he clarified that when a political party revolves around a single family, giving preference to its members and allowing all decisions to be made by them, it is considered dynastic politics. This is different from multiple family members independently pursuing a political career with the support of the people.
PM Modi emphasised the importance of young people in politics and their commitment to serving the nation. He also highlighted the potential risks of dynastic politics to democracy.
He expressed his concern about the growing influence of politics on culture and emphasised that the progress happening in the country should be shared by all citizens, rather than being attributed to one individual.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence in India’s strong economy, stating that under the current government’s leadership, India is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy.
According to him, the global perception of India can be gauged by the outcome of the G20 Summit.
Highlighting the importance of government involvement in guiding the country towards success, PM Modi emphasised the interim budget presented in 2014 by the previous administration and the statement made by the former finance minister.
He highlighted that during his speech, the former finance minister mentioned India’s economic growth, noting that the country has moved up from being the 11th largest economy to now being the 5th largest.
Quoting the former FM, the PM expressed optimism about the nation’s future, stating that it would become the world’s third-largest economy within the next three decades, following the USA and China.
“Today, I can confidently assure the nation that India is on track to become the third largest economy in the world during the current government’s third term,” he stated.
PM Modi emphasised that the progress of the government’s work, along with its ambitious goals and bravery, was being closely observed by the global community.
He shared with the house that the current government has constructed 4 crore houses for the rural poor and 80 lakh pucca houses for the urban poor.

According to the PM, significant progress has been made in the past decade. This includes the electrification of 40,000 km of railway lines, the provision of 17 crore additional gas connections, and the expansion of sanitation coverage from 40 percent to 100 percent.
Expressing disappointment with the previous governments’ approach to welfare and their lack of faith in the people of India, he emphasised the current government’s confidence in the abilities and potential of Indian citizens.
“During the first term, we focused on addressing the infrastructure issues left behind by previous administrations. In the second term, we worked towards building a strong foundation for a new India. Now, in the third term, our aim is to expedite the development of a thriving Bharat,” stated PM Modi.
He provided a comprehensive list of the initiatives from the first term, including Swacch Bharat, Ujjwala, Ayushman Bharat, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Sugamya Bharat, Digital India, and GST.
In the second term, the PM highlighted significant achievements such as the abolition of Article 370, the passage of Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, the adoption of Bhartiya Nyay Samhita, the repealing of more than 40,000 obsolete laws, and the launch of Vande Bharat and Namo Bharat trains.
“People across the country have witnessed the timely completion of pending projects, spanning from North to South and East to West,” he stated.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra demonstrated the government’s unwavering commitment to providing essential services to all citizens.
Regarding the consecration of the Ram Temple, he expressed that the presence of the temple in Ayodhya will uphold and invigorate India’s rich culture and traditions.
PM Modi highlighted that the upcoming term of the government would prioritise significant decisions.
“The government’s third term will have a lasting impact on the future of the country,” he said.
The Prime Minister expressed strong belief in the abilities of the 1.4 billion citizens of the country, highlighting that 250 million people had successfully overcome poverty in the past decade.
He emphasised that with the appropriate resources and self-respect, the less fortunate have the ability to overcome poverty.
According to PM Modi, there has been significant progress in providing bank accounts, houses, water connections, Ayushman cards, and free food grains to millions of people.
“Modi is dedicated to supporting individuals who were previously overlooked,” he stated, highlighting the assistance provided to street vendors through PM Svanidhi, the Vishwakarma Yojna for artisans and handicraftsmen, the PM Jan Man Yojna for vulnerable tribal groups, the Vibrant Villages Programme for border area development, the emphasis on millet production, the Vocal for Local initiative, and the strengthening of the Khadi sector.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of honouring Karpoori Thakur with the Bharat Ratna and emphasised how he was not given the respect he deserved by previous administrations.
He remembered the efforts made to overthrow his government during Thakur’s tenure as the chief minister of Bihar in the 1970s.
PM Modi emphasised the government’s efforts to empower women in India.
Now there are no limitations on the opportunities available to the daughters of our country in any sector in India. He mentioned that they are also ensuring the safety of the borders by flying fighter jets.
The Prime Minister expressed great confidence in the capabilities of women’s self-help groups, which have an impressive membership of over 10 crore. These groups play a crucial role in boosting India’s rural economy.
According to his statement, the nation is expected to see a significant increase in the number of financially successful individuals in the coming years.
PM Modi was pleased to note the shift in societal attitudes towards celebrating the birth of a girl child. He also discussed the government’s efforts to improve the lives of women.
Regarding farmer welfare, it was mentioned that the annual agricultural budget has been significantly increased from Rs 25,000 crore in previous governments to Rs 1.25 lakh crore now.
The Prime Minister announced the allocation of a significant amount of funds to support farmers through various schemes such as PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and PM Fasal Bima Yojna. Additionally, a dedicated Ministry for Fisheries and Animal Husbandry will be established, and fishermen and cattlemen will be provided with PM Kisan Credit Cards.
Additionally, he highlighted the importance of administering 50 crore vaccinations to combat foot and mouth disease and protect the lives of animals.
Highlighting the potential for India’s youth, PM Modi discussed the rise of startups, unicorns, digital creators, and the gift economy.

He emphasised that today, India is the top digital economy globally and will generate countless new opportunities for the country’s youth.
The PM also discussed the growth of mobile manufacturing in India and the affordability of data.
He also mentioned the significant progress in India’s tourism and aviation industries. PM Modi emphasised the government’s commitment to offering job prospects and social safety nets to the young population of India.
During his address to the house, he shared the news that the country’s infrastructure budget had seen a significant increase over the past decade, from 12 lakh crore before 2014 to Rs 44 lakh crore.
The PM also highlighted the importance of motivating India’s youth to transform the country into a global centre for research and innovation through the implementation of effective systems and economic policies.
Emphasising the government’s commitment to fostering self-reliance in the energy sector, he discussed India’s prominent role in investing in the green hydrogen and semiconductors industries.
During his speech, PM Modi also discussed the issue of price rise and highlighted the significant rate of inflation in 1974.
He commended the current government for effectively addressing price inflation in the country despite the challenges of ongoing conflicts and the global pandemic.
The PM reminisced about the days when debates in the house centred around various scandals within the country.
He highlighted a significant rise in cases under PMLA compared to previous governments, along with a substantial increase in seizures by the Enforcement Directorate from Rs 5000 crore to 1 lakh crore.
“The welfare of the poor has been prioritised,” PM Modi stated, highlighting the disbursement of over Rs 30 lakh crore through Direct Benefit Transfer.
He made a strong commitment to combat corruption until the very end and emphasised that those who have stolen from the nation will be held accountable.

He expressed his desire for support in the development of the country and its 1.4 billion citizens.
